Rising from the sea cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples, this majestic property is grand in design and experience. Villa Astor has earned the title of "Paradise" with possibly one of the best vistas in the world and a grandeur rarely seen inside and out. It is one of the most romantic and awe-inspiring settings for a luxury Italian wedding.

This luxury villa is a fantasy wedding location, a one-of-a-kind and beautiful setting ideal for elopements, weddings in villa ceremonies, and receptions that have been named one of the trendiest Italian wedding locations by Brides Magazine. The gorgeous, lush garden is the perfect place for romance and celebration, and it offers expansive views of the sea and Mount Vesuvius. Either outside under the stars or within one of the many salons are options for dining.

According to numerous premium lifestyle and travel periodicals, including Town & Country, Quintessence, Forbes, Bloomberg, and the Telegraph, Villa Astor is the gold standard for opulent lodging on the Amalfi Coast. It’s a breathtaking villa steeped in history with a view that will take your breath away. In addition, it is one of our favorite Italian wedding venues.

A Unique Experience

If you dream of being whisked away to a destination filled with romance, culture, and history for your wedding, Italy and the Villa Astor are the perfect setting. Dripping in old-world luxury at the most renowned residence in Sorrento, you can expect to be pampered.

It is a majestic structure that rises above the Gulf of Naples. Nestled on two hectares (4+ acres) of land, the distinctive garden, one of Europe's 20 most beautiful gardens, faces Naples and Mount Vesuvius with a dramatic plunge to the sea.

The Villa has a primary structure with three floors. The lowest level, accessible through an exterior stairway, consists of a terrace and a salon in a glass-covered portico, making it the perfect summertime location for meals, gatherings, and barbecues.

Six luxurious bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom designed and built by Jacques Garcia, are located on the first and second floors.

The property has 270-degree sea views and is encircled by a big, private garden with more than 1000 different species of plants, flowers, and trees, some of which reach heights of 60 feet. The decor, paintings, and other items on the property all reflect elegance and classicism with a solid connection to regional southern Italian traditions.

Walking around the house's garden, open areas, and interior rooms is a profoundly emotional experience. Marble columns and artifacts complete its architecture, yet it is hard to describe precisely what Villa Astor stands for.

Weddings At Villa Astor In Sorrento Italy

Villa Astor is truly a luxury destination wedding venue located in Sorrento. The villa has hosted some of the most famous weddings in history, since the early 20th century. And the weddings that take place here are some of the most unbelievable.

The views are designed to be seen from every room in the house, but you can also enjoy them outside on your private balcony or patio.

Three rooms are available for ceremonies: an indoor chapel with high ceilings decorated with antique chandeliers; a small outdoor chapel with walls made of stone; and an outdoor garden where you can say your vows beneath a pergola covered with flowers.

Villa Astor is conveniently located near many other attractions in Sorrento, including museums and historical sites such as Pompei, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Volcano Park. The venue offers a range of packages to suit all budgets and styles.

The History

Villa Astor has a lengthy history dating back to the first century A.D., when Agrippa Postumus, the grandson of Emperor Augustus, first made it his home. It has long been a house and a destination for the affluent and illustrious.

It is a remarkable example of combining interior and outdoor splendor. William Waldorf Astor purchased this house in 1905 after falling in love with it and filling it with one of the most extensive collections of classical and Renaissance artifacts of the 20th century. It became one of the most sought-after vacation spots in the South of Italy after a wealthy family purchased the Villa in the 1970s and hosted several famous guests, including Gregory Peck, Sofia Loren, Princess Margaret, Franco Zeffirelli, and Rudolf Nureyev.

The villa has been restored over the years, keeping its original design but updating the facilities to meet modern needs. As a result, it remains one of the most popular wedding venues in Sorrento.

It is an ideal location for a luxury wedding on Amalfi Coast and romantic honeymoons. It's also close enough to Naples for guests who may want to include some sightseeing into their trip (though there are plenty of things to do at Villa Astor itself!).

The location offers accommodations with stunning views overlooking the sea or mountain landscape—depending on which suite you book! Guests can enjoy meals in the main dining room or at one of several gourmet restaurants nearby (which can be booked through Villa.

A Luxurious Destination For Weddings & Events

The Astor Villa exudes a classic aura. A museum-quality collection of Greek and Roman antiquities that previously belonged to Lord Astor himself is displayed throughout the magnificent furnishings. In addition, antique relics, such as columns, statues, fountains, urns, pottery shards, and pieces of sarcophagi, are scattered throughout the verdant gardens.

Many of these items were discovered during Pompeii's original excavation, which is just incredible. Imagine the experience you and your wedding guests will have surrounded by such unbelievable history.

Weddings at Villa Astor are a luxurious experience, with many rooms decorated by famous artists like Gustav Klimt and Salvador Dalí. The grounds also feature an outdoor chapel, where many couples say their vows under the Tuscan sun.

It's a stunning luxury villa that offers a truly unique and memorable experience to celebrate your love with your closest family and friends.

A symbolic wedding in Amalfi Coast ceremony and reception for groups of 100–200 guests can be held in the exotic garden and breathtaking terraces of Villa Astor. For up to 120 guests, symbolic ceremonies may be held on a large terrace with a view of the sea and Mount Vesuvius. Another choice is a garden near the pool with exotic plants and palm trees but no ocean views.

There are citrus and olive groves, fountains, ornamental ponds, an internal pool in a natural grotto, palms, and ferns, as well as hidden paths and alleys that wind through more than 1,000 plant species, including medicinal plants. Within the walls of this priceless garden, you will discover a microclimate. The Villa is complemented by a jaw-dropping marble swimming pool on the grounds.

These magnificent settings create a beautiful backdrop for your wedding near the sea photos.

And one of our favourite wedding venues is the Palazzo Avino in Ravello, and today we’re going to tell you why it’s the best place to get married in Italy.

The Amalfi Coast, considered Italy's best-kept secret, offers breathtaking vistas from every angle and provides equally beautiful scenic backgrounds for couples getting married in a luxurious setting.

With thousands of years of history, an enchanting mountaintop setting on Italy’s most beautiful coastline, and views that have captivated countless souls and artists and filled hearts with passion, the Palazzo Avino will capture your heart. But it's only the beginning of what you may discover in this little community.

This enchanted setting is more than just what meets the eye. People are not only astounded as they approach the shoreline; it also offers more surprises once they get out of the car and begin their tour of the hotels, castles, cathedrals, museums, and other sights along the coast.

Breathtaking view from Palazzo Avino terrace

Ravello is likely the least visited of the hamlets that stare out onto the azure Meditteranean Sea. Yet it plays in a league of its own, perched 1,150 feet above sea level with stunning coastline vistas, and is an incredible place to get married in Italy.

For couples looking to have a destination near the sea, Ravello is the most romantic and unforgettable location. It is situated just high and far enough away from the main tourist routes to feel more private and intimate. You should consider getting married here if you envision a spectacular affair at a magnificent palazzo or a garden wedding with some of the best panoramic ocean views in all of Italy.

You can tie the knot in one of the ancient and well-manicured gardens with the sun kissing your skin,  say “I Do” in a rustic Moorish palace, a historic castle, or the Palazzo Avino for an unforgettable romantic wedding. With a plentitude of indoor and outdoor settings for your wedding ceremony and reception, your wedding will be an event to remember.

Palazzo Avino

Rising from the majestic cliffs, tucked away on a medieval hilltop, 350 meters above the dazzling Mediterranean-the Palazzo Avino overlooks the coast's picturesque fishing villages. It was built in a former 12th-century private villa for an Italian noble family and opened as a hotel in 1997. It is a magnificent five-star deluxe hotel and one of the world's finest hotels with one-star Michelin cuisine.

The attention is drawn to this palace as you pass along the cobblestone street that borders the Giardini Principessa di Piemonte public garden because of its dazzling and distinctive pink colour. It is home to a five-star luxury hotel currently run by the Avino sisters, Mariella and Attilia.

The lovely location is situated in the south of Naples and offers breathtaking views of the sea from its vantage point on a cliffside. For its affluent tourists, the picturesque surroundings of the dazzling blue sea, an abundance of flowers, and pastel-painted cottages create a tranquil retreat from the hectic outside world.

This multi-award-winning house has been elegantly renovated to the finest standards while keeping its evocative medieval and baroque elements. As a result, the hotel has received praise as one of the world's top hotels and has received global recognition for its dedication to providing the best hospitality and service.

Undoubtedly a majestic place to get married in Italy.

The opulent Palazzo Avino, also referred to as the "Pink Palace" by locals, is perched high on a hillside overlooking terraced gardens that rise from the sea in Ravello. The hotel is the crown jewel of this majestic view. This old villa, which has stood on this site since the 12th century, boasts Italianate magnificence by the wine barrelful, with vaulted ceilings, polished-walnut furnishings, and ornate tiled flooring.

One of the lounge rooms' enormous art deco-style stars, which pays homage to another glamorous era, is something we particularly admire. However, in Italy, living well isn't enough; you also need to eat well. And Rossellini's, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant, is undoubtedly one of the most romantic places to have dinner.

Wedding in an Italian Palazzo

A wedding in the Italian Palazzo is an unforgettable experience. From the lavish and historic decor to the impeccable service, your guests will be transported into another time. We can picture intimate wedding ceremonies in the gardens with the gorgeous backdrop of the sparkling sea. Receptions can be held on a terrace or around the pool, and yes! Even in the gardens.

If you dream of getting married in Italy, let us help you bring your vision to life. Our exceptionally trained wedding planners love the Palazzo Avino, and styling your dream wedding will be an honour.

The Treatment

All visitors are given a royal welcome at the Palazzo Avino, which was restored to its former splendour in 1997. While completely renovated and refurbished, it nonetheless maintains the authenticity of its past and gives visitors the chance to unwind and regenerate in a magnificently opulent environment.

The rooms are the stylish counterpoint to the genuine ambiance of the Palazzo. The aquamarine blue, coral red, and sand tones used throughout the rooms are inspired by the aquatic world beneath them. The rooms have curved beds and headboards set against slightly concave walls and are surrounded by unique lights that resemble pearls and seashells.

Once a private residence, the mansion is built around a Moorish-style courtyard with white lime-painted walls. It underwent renovations aimed at preserving its original, imposing architecture while valuing the eclectic style of the Amalfi coast.

The 33 guest rooms and 10 suites are tastefully designed with handmade pottery from the adjacent town of Vietri Sul Mare. Luxurious antique furniture from French and Italian artists of the 17th to 19th centuries and priceless carpets create a luxury oasis away from home.

Undoubtedly, your wedding guests will feel pampered and elite while staying at the stunning Palazzo Avino.

The Amenities

The palazzo's amenities include an infinity pool with views of the sea, a garden pool and solarium, a gym, and a spa with aromatherapy, Californian massages, and revitalizing treatments for the face and body.

Stepped gardens and several terraced areas, including one on the roof, provide exceptional views and lovely areas for taking photos. There is plenty to do while you stay here.

A Culinary Experience

A trip to the Amalfi coast wouldn't be complete without sampling some of its delectable cuisines.

Three dining options are available at the Palazzo Avino hotel: the casual Terrazza Belvedere, which serves seafood pasta and the famous Capresi dumplings; the Lobster & Martini bar, which offers 100 different martini variations; and the Michelin-starred Rossellini's, which serves dishes like Luna Caprese dumplings made of lemon bread and stuffed with Corbarino tomato.

With the exceptionally trained culinary team, your wedding guests will be WOW’d with delectable Italian cuisine fit for royalty. A food experience no one will forget.

The first thing you need to do is decide on your wedding date. The location is a popular Italian wedding venue, so booking your date well in advance is important. Once you set your date, you can start planning the rest of your wedding.

The next thing you need to think about is your guest list. The Villa San Michele Hotel can accommodate up to 200 guests, so make sure to invite everyone you want to attend. If you're having a smaller wedding, the hotel also has smaller event spaces that may be more suitable for your needs.

You'll also need to decide on catering, flowers, music, decorations, and any additional events you may want to host.

What Type of Ceremony Can You Choose?

There are many different types of wedding ceremonies you can choose from when getting married here. If you are looking for a traditional ceremony, you can opt for a Catholic or Protestant service. Both of these services will be conducted by an officiant in front of your guests.

If you are looking for something a little more unique, you can opt for a humanist ceremony conducted by either a celebrant or an officiant. This type of ceremony is non-religious and focuses on the couple's love for each other. You can also choose to have a civil ceremony, which a mayor or magistrate conducts. Again, this ceremony is secular and not affiliated with any religion.

Wedding Receptions

There are many breathtaking reception areas at the Hotel, including an outdoor terrace with stunning views of Florence, the city’s skyline, and the surrounding Tuscan hillsides. In addition, various spaces can be transformed indoors to suit your vision, from elegant ballrooms to more comfortable lounge areas.

What To Wear To A Beach Wedding?

One of the most common questions we hear is what to wear to a beach wedding? Don't worry! We have got you covered. The outfits for men and women for the casual beach wedding are simple sundresses and linen shorts and shirts.

Whereas for the semi-formal weddings, the men should dress up in seersucker pants, a bottom down, and sport coats, and the outfit for women should be something like a cocktail or lengthy tea dress.

If it's a formal wedding on the beach, floor-length gowns for women and three-piece suits for men are standardized.

Italy is no doubt one of the most famous places for destination weddings. Getting married on a beach is something that every romantic couple has dreamt about at least one time.

The options are unlimited; Italy has the most exquisite options for any taste and needs: from intimate weddings to enormous family gatherings and elegant to romantic. Finally, there is the perfect Italian beach wedding venue for your unforgettable event.

There is no generic Italian wedding! Italy's exotic and hospitable allure has long been a favorite amongst couples seeking the perfect destination wedding, and what is better than an Italian wedding on the water? Here is a foolproof guide to planning an Italian wedding on the water.

A wedding designed around water in Italy is nothing short of an ethereal experience. It showcases the best of nature and allows for a slight scenery change, especially if you are on a boat. If you are a lover of Shakespeare or old literature, you will undoubtedly adore the famous canals of Venice from which there are few substitutes in the modern world.

Venice is a sought-after wedding destination for getting married on a boat as it is said a rosy light descends on the city and the river of Tiber and Arno are magnificent for seeing the city on ships.

Engage A Wedding Planner

An Italian wedding on the water needs a gifted local wedding planner. You can book anyone who strikes your fancy and enjoys a good reputation online and start working with them even before landing in Italy. As any wedding expert will tell you, if you’re going for a destination wedding, it is best to put the location’s best features and backdrops to work for you rather than adopting a strict theme that doesn’t showcase the brilliance of the local culture.

If there’s anything an Italian wedding can provide you with is a ready-made honeymoon destination right after the wedding, a chance to see some of the best of what Europe has to offer, to take incomparably beautiful photographs of just the two of you together, and the opportunity to sample some mouthwatering local cuisine.

A local wedding planner irons out many confusing details such as country laws, the legal process of getting married, and how you can secure the best rates and even the best wine! A local wedding planner also can call in favors if you need a photographer or suggest the perfect caterer if you have a particular food preference in mind (such as vegan or vegetarian).

Breaking Down The Cost

The season, the location, and a range of other factors usually affect the cost of a destination wedding and wedding venues on the water. So a few months before the wedding, it is sensible to get a few quotes from the key suppliers so that there is still time to choose someone else if you feel you aren’t getting adequate value for money. The good news is that getting married on the water, say in the South of Italy where the sand and the ethereal blue are an ever-present delight, comes with its own natural decorations lessening how much you’d need to spend on florists or lighting equipment.

The Venue Is The Main Attraction

Italy has an abundance of villas and hotels that overlook the sea and capture its Mediterranean flavor. The islands of Sicily and Sardina, and Capri, for example, are spectacular for hosting an Italian wedding on the water as they are nothing short of perfect with their soft sand, deep blue water, and several historical archaeological sites. The Amalfi Coast is another treasure trove of scenery, history, and culture, and fairytale-appropriate houses littered over the cliffs overlooking the raging waves.

Many poets have even said that the people of Amalfi live in real paradise, and anyone who visits will never want to leave! Puglia is another excellent coastline choice for weddings with its picture-perfect white villas, little houses, and heritage sites. Lake Como is also a dreamy wedding venue fit for celebrities, and the best time to plan an Italian beach wedding is from April to October, which has the best temperate weather.

The Italian Riviera boasts numerous locations for the most spectacular wedding venues on the water. Porto Venere is known for its fishing port, Santa Margherita for its resort offerings, Portofino and Cinque Terre. Sorrento is a brilliant choice for the history buff who wants a photoshoot amongst some magnificent landmarks.

If it seems like everyone around you is tying the knot this year or gearing up for a 2022 wedding, you are not wrong.

A wedding boom is indeed happening as couples from all over the world prepare to make the promise of a lifetime.

As you and your beloved begin thinking about your wedding, you may be realizing that, if everyone around you is getting married, how can you stand out on your special day?

The answer is not to go bigger or to invite more people. The key to truly memorable weddings is to make your wedding luxurious.

This is why so many couples are having exclusive weddings in Italy. With the glamour, the history, the art, and the culture, a destination wedding in Italy is truly a once in a lifetime experience for you and your beloved, as well as your guests.

Why Do Couples Have Exclusive Weddings in Italy?

Following over a year of lockdown due to COVID-19, couples all over the world are excited to tie the knot. But having a wedding isn’t enough. Many couples want a grand experience in a beautiful location, where they get a vacation for themselves as well as a romantic ceremony.

Every couple has their own reasons for why they chose to have an exclusive wedding in Italy, but here are the biggest benefits for choosing a destination wedding:

  1. The adventure - For couples who love to travel, a destination wedding is a must. It will associate that city with amazing memories for both yourself and your guests. Destination weddings are also a great way to save on the honeymoon.

How To Determine The Best City For Your Wedding

The truth is that you can’t go wrong when it comes to having an exclusive wedding in Italy. Every city is full of history, art, stunning landscapes, and a variety of styles of architecture. For the perfect wedding, it is recommended that you tailor the location of the wedding to your unique love story.

When you and your beloved choose a city for your wedding, it is important to consider what landmarks and features are important to you.

For example, if you and your beloved love art and history, you may want to consider Rome or the Amalfi Coast for your wedding. The city of Rome was once the seat of power during antiquity, now it is the home of the most well-preserved architectural features in the world.

Seeing photos of these historic landmarks does not do them justice. You simply need to see the Domus Aurea, the Pantheon, and the Baths of Diocletian in person. Whether you want to have your own little Roman Holiday or to peel back the layers of history after the wedding, Rome is the perfect place to say “I do.”

The Amalfi Coast is the perfect wedding location for couples who are interested in a different era of history. Named one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, this region is home to 16 communities that all have their own beautiful and enchanting architectural wonders. The Amalfi Cathedral is an especially breathtaking sight to behold. Built during the 13th century, this cathedral is home to centuries of art, as well as completely unique architecture that is guaranteed to leave you speechless.

For couples who want beauty and luxury, VB Events recommends Como Lake as the perfect location for your wedding. If this area sounds familiar, it may be because Como Lake is a popular wedding destination for celebrities. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh hosted their own modern day fairytale at Villa de Balbianello; Chrissy Teigen and John Legend also picked Como Lake as the backdrop to their special day.

The Best Venues For Exclusive Weddings in Italy

You’ve picked your city, now it is time to decide where you will walk down the aisle. The truth is that you cannot go wrong! Italy is home to hundreds of beautiful wedding locations, all with deep history and artfully restored rooms. Most couples should start by deciding what kind of location that they want: a resort, a vineyard, or a villa.

Resorts are ideal for couples who want to be pampered. Resorts like Borgo Santo Pietro in Tuscany, Donna Carmela, and Verdura Resort in Sicily can accommodate between 50 and 100 guests. They also have full amenities, including restaurants, pools, a spa, and exclusive events that you and your wedding guests can enjoy.

Vineyard weddings are a hot, new trend for 2021 and 2022 because they embrace a rustic aesthetic, while keeping it luxurious and exclusive. Consider having your vineyard wedding at Palazzo Pfanner in Lucca, Villa San Michele in the Fiesole hills, or Il Salviatino in Florence. Enjoy wine tasting, garden tours, and experience the best of Italian farm-to-table food with your beloved.

Italy is home to hundreds of historic villas that are the perfect venue for exclusive weddings in Italy. Nothing says “exclusive” quite like booking a villa as a private oasis for your beloved and your guests. VB Events recommends Villa Igiea in Sicily, Villa Clara in the heart of Rome, or Villa Aurelia for your dream wedding.

How To Cater The Menu To Fit Your Location

Once couples choose their city and their venue, the next step is to make some choices about the menu, the cake, and the drinks. Many resorts and vineyards have their own restaurants on-site, which can be available to cater weddings; this is called internal catering.

If you choose to have the on-site restaurant cater your wedding, keep in mind that it may be more affordable overall. The cuisines will also better match the feel of the location. Many vineyards have farm-to-table restaurants, so you can dine on delicious food that was grown only an acre away. However, internal catering can mean fewer options. Most internal restaurants only offer a handful of dishes and you may be unable to request a specific dish for your wedding.

Your other option is external catering, where the caterer is not associated with the venue. With external catering, the flavors may not match to the venue as precisely as it would if the on-site restaurant catered. However, when you work with external caterers, it is easier to customize the menu to involve all your favorite foods and to accommodate a variety of dietary needs. External catering will likely cost more because of set up and transportation, but this is worth it for many couples who want their wedding cuisine to tell their love story.

If you have questions about your options for catering, contact VB Events for more information. Our team is highly experienced at sourcing world-renowned caterers to take your wedding to the next level. All you have to do is tell our team what you want for your special day, and we will handle the rest!

How To Accommodate and Entertain All Your Guests

A common question for destination weddings is: what should we pay for and what should our guests pay for? The way Brides.com breaks it down is that the couple does not have to pay for the attendees’ flights, but they should provide accommodations that are free or at least affordable for the guests.

The best way to do this for exclusive weddings in Italy is to choose a venue that can accommodate your guests, such as Villa Balbiano which can hold up to 100 guests or Hotel De La Ville. This way, guests do not have to find their own hotels and can be nearby.

Most couples like to host additional events and activities in addition to the ceremony and the reception. These may be activities for only the wedding party or for the entire guest list. Because destination weddings are more intimate with fewer guests, it is easier to schedule and pay for activities for all the guests. Some popular pre- and post- wedding activities include:

Planning extra activities around the wedding is not required, but it can make for a unique experience. Most guests will keep themselves entertained before and after the ceremony, but most couples want to have fun with their friends and family as part of the wedding adventure. If you need a helping hand, VB Events also does bespoke events, exclusive tours, and wedding activities. We can help wow your guests with the trip of a lifetime!

How many people have dreamed about their wedding since they were little kids? What did you imagine for yourself? A luxury wedding in Italy?

Most people want their wedding day to be perfect. But not just perfect: they want it to be luxurious. As travel restrictions are lifted, luxury weddings in Italy have become the hot, new way to tie the knot.

What Makes a Wedding a Luxury Wedding?

Is it the price tag? The decor? Is a wedding luxury if it has a certain colour scheme? Or if the dresses and tuxes cost a certain amount? What makes a wedding luxury is all of the above, and more.

There are 3 factors that make a wedding into a luxury wedding: the location, the details, and the entertainment.

Location is a big part of a luxury wedding. Imagine getting married on the Amalfi Coast in a historic Italian villa. Or in the middle of Rome, the most romantic city in the world, where you will be surrounded by centuries of art and history.

The best way to turn your wedding into the most amazing experience of your life is to tie the knot in Italy.

The second aspect that makes a wedding luxurious is the details. Bridal Guide suggests using lighting, a unified theme, bouquets for chairs, lounging furniture, and pooling table linens.

However, if this sounds like a lot of work for you and your beloved, that’s because it probably will be.

If you don’t want to worry about every little thing on your wedding day, consider working with VB Events to take the stress out of wedding planning.

The last aspect of a luxury wedding in Italy is the entertainment. Most people think they have to choose between a DJ or a band for the wedding, and that those two are their only options.

However, what makes a wedding luxury is going beyond just a band or a DJ. Luxury weddings in Italy often have live dancers, fireworks, and light shows to entertain the couple and wow the guests.

Top 5 Locations For A Luxury Wedding in Italy

The truth is that you can’t go wrong when it comes to wedding locations in Italy. Whether you want a vineyard wedding, a beach wedding, or a villa wedding, Italy is full of beautiful, historic wedding locations. Here are the 5 most luxurious venues for your wedding.

1.    Donna Carmela

Donna Carmela, near Catania, dates back to the 19th century. Since then, it has become a prime location for luxury weddings and for those who want to enjoy exquisite cuisine.

The resort sits on 550 hectares that are home to a nursery full of tropical Mediterranean plants, a vineyard, 26 private rooms, and a restaurant to give your guests a taste of Italy.

If you and your guests value your privacy, you will love Donna Carmela because you can rent out all 26 rooms for up to 70 guests.

This means that you will have the entire resort to yourself, where you can enjoy privacy with your closest friends on your special day.

2.    Grand Hotel Timeo

Located in Taormina, the Grand Hotel Timeo has historically been home to artists, writers, and political thinkers.

Nothing is more luxurious than being surrounded by art! When you have your wedding at the Grand Hotel Timeo, you can book the exclusive Presidential Suite, which has its own private terrace, a jacuzzi, and panoramic views of both the city and Mount Etna.

Many couples choose the Grand Hotel Timeo for their special day because they want nothing but the best.

3.    Villa Erba

Villa Erba is an architectural gem on Como Lake in Cernobbio. Built in the 19th century, its carved ceilings, expressive frescoes, expansive gardens, and lakefront view make it the most luxurious setting for a wedding.

If you recognize the architecture, it may be because Villa Erba was the backdrop to Tess and Danny Ocean’s elaborate, heist-filled love story in Ocean’s 11.

Villa Erba is a popular destination for a luxury wedding in Italy because it is so large that you can walk the aisle in the garden, on a terrace, or inside one of many grand ballrooms.

4.    Castello Odescalchi

Castello Odescalchi is just north of Rome, the eternal city. As one of the most imposing mansions in Rome, it provides a romantic setting fit for royalty.

The castle is a popular wedding destination among the rich and famous, including Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, but you too can tie the knot within those historic walls.

5.    Borgo Santo Pietro

Borgo Santo Pietro is a 5-star luxury resort near Siena in the heart of Tuscany. At the centre of this beautiful resort is a lovingly restored 13th-century villa.

Couples from all over the world fall in love with Borgo Santo Pietro because it marries nature with luxury.

The restaurant honours a “farm to table” tradition, so you will be eating the freshest, most natural food during your reception. Once you and your beloved are ready to unwind from the big day, visit the immersive spa for a complete healing experience.

The Details of Luxury: How Decorations Can Transform Your Wedding

Luxury is all about the details. This is as true for weddings as it is for fashion. You don’t need to go big to enjoy a luxurious experience.

When it comes to the decorations, having a destination wedding in Italy takes care of most of that for you. When your venue is a stunning, historic castle, you really don’t need much else to tie the whole wedding together.

The experts at VB Events recommend that you let the natural beauty of the setting speak for itself and focus on the details of the reception instead. Here are some small ways to make your wedding a luxury wedding in Italy to remember:

It is best to avoid anything too garish. Using muted, classic colors that look good on everyone is the easiest way to elevate your wedding.

A wedding can’t be luxury if everyone in the wedding party isn’t looking their best. When you style your wedding party in different complementary outfits, you can add layers of beauty to the wedding and highlight each person’s important role in your lives.

Bride and bridesmaids with bouquet of buttercups and flowers

For brides: consider wearing a simple dress that flatters you and pair it with a large, statement piece for the veil. For grooms, prioritize a tux that fits like a glove and is made from quality materials, over a glitzy outfit.

Here’s the most important thing you can do to have a luxurious wedding in Italy: don’t try to do it all yourself. There is nothing luxurious about being stressed.

Instead, hire the experts in luxurious wedding planning, VB Events. We will handle everything from the venue to the flowers. All you and your beloved have to do is enjoy your special day.

The Best Food in Italy For Your Luxury Wedding

Food is a big part about what makes a wedding luxury. When you get married in Italy, the home of the best food in the world, no wedding would be complete without a locally sourced, custom menu from Italy’s best chefs.

This is where VB Events comes in. We specialize in handling all the catering. Our team will source the best chefs in Italy to cater your wedding and help them customize the menu to your tastes.

If your guests have any food allergies or preferences, we will ensure that everyone’s needs are met.

Some venues for luxury weddings in Italy come equipped with a farm-to-table restaurant on the grounds.

This way, you can enjoy the freshest menu with ingredients that are sustainably sourced. If your venue does not have a local restaurant, VB Events will help you find a caterer to make your wedding dreams come true.

Mozzarella and tomatoes for wedding cocktail

The key to making your wedding luxurious in every bite is the details. No one wants anything mass produced or frozen on the most important day of their life. Gourmet is a must.

The ingredients should also be organic and locally-sourced. VB Events team also recommends tailoring the menu to tell your unique love story. For example, if you and your beloved have traveled extensively or lived in different countries over your courtship, consider having each course represent the cuisines of those countries.

Entertain Your Guests With These 6 Unique Ideas

There are so many popular games that couples can incorporate into their weddings. From the shoe game to lawn games like cornhole and giant Jenga, wedding receptions are as much about the activities as they are about the dancing.

These activities are fun and entertaining, but are they a good fit for luxury weddings in Italy?

The key to unlocking luxury is to think outside the box. For your wedding to be truly luxurious, it has to offer new, elevated forms of entertainment. Here are 6 unique ideas to blow your guests away during your luxury wedding.

  1. Fireworks - Nothing says grandeur like fireworks. A beautiful firework show across the sky is the perfect way to end the night for all guests.
  2. Light Shows - Light shows for weddings are a contemporary twist that will add a little something extra to your big day. If you are concerned for the local pets, a light show is a quieter, safer alternative to fireworks. Not only will you and your beloved get some amazing photos with the light show, it will render your guests speechless.
  3. Dancers - There is something so magical about a live performance. If you and your beloved are former dancers or if you just enjoy the arts, consider hiring dancers to perform at your wedding. A ballet performance will perfectly match the high-class venue by incorporating one of the most beautiful dance forms. Depending on the venue, you could book aerialists to perform a silk waltz in the air.
  4. Wine Tasting - Everyone loves to drink at weddings. The trick to elevating your wedding is to drink mindfully with a wine tasting. There is nothing more luxurious than wine tasting in Italy, especially when you say “I do” in a historic Italian vineyard. Your guests can experience world-famous wines while they celebrate your love.
  5. Classy Bars - Candy bars, ice cream bars, and cocktail bars are very popular at weddings. The trick to making them luxury is to give guests a chance to sample some of the finer pleasures in life. Consider offering a cigar bar, a whiskey bar, or a scotch bar. Guests can taste the woodsy undertones as they enjoy vintage bottles.
  6. Elevate the Music - You have more options than just choosing between a band or a DJ. Consider hiring a harpist or opera singers to perform at the reception. The music will echo all around your castle venue and wrap the guests in beautiful music.

Top five steps for how to book a wedding in Italy:

  1. Find a local wedding planner
  2. Set a realistic budget
  3. Find the best location
  4. Come up with your theme
  5. Execution and final decisions

1. Find a Local Wedding Planner

When you first start looking into how to book a wedding in Italy, it is imperative to have a local wedding planner that is on the ground and that you trust. A good wedding planner is an extension of you.

They will need to understand your needs and your desires. They will make decisions on your behalf when you are unable to, so you must find a planner that gets you and that you work well with.

A local wedding planner will help you exorbitantly when booking your wedding in Italy. They have spent their careers building strong relationships with reliable vendors and they will know the ins and outs of what you have access to with your budget, ultimately giving you a bigger bang for your buck.

Not only will having a local wedding planner help you save money and keep within budget, but they will also be able to give you access to venues and vendors that are not publicly advertised and have restricted access to.

A local wedding planner can help you book your wedding in Italy and make it a reality as they have the experience and know each step required.

They will be able to take an enormous amount of pressure off you and allow you to enjoy your time as an engaged couple.

Finding a planner may seem daunting as you are giving up some of the control of your day to someone else, but it will be so worth it.

Here are our top three steps in picking the perfect planner:

  1. Look at their portfolio - Look if they have done events similar to your style and to the party size you estimate your wedding to be. Also take note if they can cater for different religions and cultures if that is something you want as part of your day.

2.   Set A Realistic Budget for your wedding

Once you find your perfect, local wedding planner you can rely on, it is important that you sit down with them and have a frank conversation about how much you are willing to spend.

This is one of the most important steps when looking into how to book a wedding in Italy - and is vital as this will dictate all your decisions moving forward.

Having a set budget allows you to work with your planner in dividing and prioritizing what you want to spend on and where you can cut back, for example, what type of entertainment you wish to have.

Breaking down your budget will allow you to see each section of your wedding and help manage expectations of delivery. Your segmented budget will help your planner propose ideal venues that fit your budget and meet your taste.

3.   Find The Best Location

When it comes to booking a location for your wedding in Italy, this should be one of the first steps tackled. Venues are often snapped up quickly and availability is scarce. It is imperative that you reserve and book a venue as early as possible.

The availability of the venue may also affect the date of your wedding, so if you can not be flexible with your dates booking the location months in advance is a must.

This may seem overwhelming but this is the exact moment you need to lean on your planner for support. They will have the contacts and the knowledge of when venues will be available at the most competitive price.

Working with and sharing your expectations sincerely with your planner will also help them find a venue that suits your style, party size, entertainment and most importantly budget.

The best location for you and your partner will be able to cater for your needs and not bust the bank. And lucky you, to book a wedding in Italy with the top wedding destinations in the world finding the perfect venue will be a joy as we are spoiled with choice in this beautiful country.

4.   Coming Up with Your Theme

Now the fun begins!

Another important step when you start looking into how to book a wedding in Italy is coming up with your theme. Once the budget and venue have been ticked off the list you can work with your planner to start visualising how your venue will be laid out and transformed into your perfect day.

A professional wedding planner will develop bespoke mood boards for you; curating all your colours and textiles to develop your theme.

If the space is large or hard to imagine how the layout will work; your wedding planner can draft mock-ups and wireframes of how tables, lighting and floral arrangements will be placed. Doing this allows you to see all available options and use the venue most optimally without the cost and all the labour.

When coming up with your key colours and theme there are a few things that can help you create cohesion throughout:

Firstly, develop a theme that works in harmony with your selected location, use the surrounding landscape to inspire your creative decisions. Bring in natural elements to pull in your theme and make it flow through the venue.

Be respectful of where you are and give simple nods to the location. You could do this simply by adding olive branches in your arrangements if you were in Tuscany or make a statement with bold, bright ceramics local to the Amalfi region.

Secondly, curate a theme that is natural and genuine to you as a couple.

You can do this simply through your stationery choice, your favourite colours or a nod to how you met. By adding these quirky elements that are authentic to you, it will make your day that more memorable and special.
